Ithryn Upgrade/Packages
From IthrynWiki
The packages we want running after the upgrade. Some of them come with the system, a handful would need manual installation. Note: These are general packages; there are too many sub-packages to be practical, at least at this point. We also aren't worrying about dependencies here.
Look at /usr/local/software for a list of packages we have, and /usr/local/software/README for a half-baked attempt to keep them organized. Look at /usr/local/packages for a list of installed packages.

Brian
- emacs (gnu) (dep 22.2-0ubuntu2)
- ghc6 (dep 6.8.2-6ubuntu2)
- haskell (I'm not really sure the primary package to look at for a version number.)
- ocaml (dep 3.10.2-3ubuntu1)
- postgresql (should we cross-list daemons here?) (dep 8.3.6-0ubuntu8.10)
- mono (non sure which package to look at... mono-2.0-devel dep: 1.9.1+dfsg-4ubuntu2)
- c-sharp (I'm not sure which package to look at but there are a few c# compilers: mono-mcs, mono-gmcs, mono-smcs)
- LaTeX (if no one else wants to)
I'm willing to maintain others, too, including libsasl, if we still want it.
Jon
- Apache2 (dep 2.2.9-7ubuntu3)
- Php5 (dep 5.2.6-2ubuntu4.1)
- Mailman (dep 1.4.15-3ubuntu0.1)
- perl (perl -v: v5.10.0)
- Squirrel Mail (dep 1.4.15-3ubuntu0.1)
- Media Wiki (dep 1.12.0-2ubuntu0.2)
- Joomla (no stable dep!)
- Wordpress(dep 2.5.1-8ubuntu1.1)
For web apps like Squirrelmail, Mediawiki and G2 I suggest we try to stick with the packaged versions if possible.
Brad
- Roundcube Mail (dep 0.1.1-7ubuntu0.1) Currently roundcube is at 0.2.1. I'll run this out of source until a more recent version is available through packages
- Gallery 2 (dep 2.2.6-1)
Ion
- Stow (dep 1.3.3-2.1) (ion, i liked your python script better than the perl script, not because of religious reasons, but because of functionality. I'd like to keep ion's stow.py around since i believe it was written a little better, particarlly when installing the first package through stow. Ion's script will create directories in /usr/local whereas the perl script just makes symlinks in /usr/local)
- Python (ecosystem) ( 878 possible packages. Python 2.5.2 is currently installed)
- Mercurial (dep 1.0.1-5.1)
- Subversion (dep: 1.5.1dfsg1-1ubuntu2 )
- Trac (dep: 0.11-2)
- Django (python-django binary dep: 1.0-1ubuntu1)
